Cala Ratjada, Spain – On October 28, 2025, a marine turtle was rescued from dangerous plastic debris in the waters off Cala Ratjada.
Agents from the GEAS unit and Salvamento Marítimo in Porto Cristo responded to the incident. The turtle was found entangled and at risk, prompting immediate action.
The rescued animal was safely transferred to the Palma Aquarium Foundation in Porto Colom for care and rehabilitation.
The turtle has been named “Mimosa” and was rescued aboard a vessel sharing the same name, ensuring it received swift attention and transport.
