Bennett, Colorado – A tornado touched down near the Town of Bennett at approximately 1:50 PM on May 18, 2025.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly with deputies, emergency management, and additional resources to assess the situation.
Initial reports indicated damage to three houses. That number later rose to 10, and then to 17 homes and structures confirmed lost or damaged.
Despite the destruction, there have been no reported injuries.
Power is currently out in the area, and there is no estimate for when it will be restored.
Public Works is delivering non-potable water to support livestock in the affected region.
The Adams County information center has been relocated to the Bennett Recreation Center at 455 S. 1st Street for residents seeking assistance or information.
Witnesses reported the tornado formed around 1:30 PM. It narrowly missed some homes and struck a solar farm, causing significant damage.
