Wheat Ridge, Colorado – A suspect led officers on a brief chase last week before turning the situation into an unusual moment of levity.
The incident began when Wheat Ridge police attempted to pull over a vehicle displaying improper plates. The driver initially delayed stopping, then fled on foot once the car came to a halt.
Officers quickly arrived on the scene and took the suspect into custody without incident. During the arrest, the suspect reportedly said, “Okay guys, you got me. Can I buy you dinner?”
While the invitation was politely declined, the suspect’s priorities were clear: he had a date with the Jefferson County Jail. Authorities issued him a summons for obstruction and jailed him on an existing warrant.
The brief encounter left officers both amused and grateful that no one was harmed during the chase.
