Ibiza, Spain – Storm Gabrielle unleashed extreme flash flooding on Ibiza starting October 1, dumping 200mm of rain in just 24 hours and triggering red alerts across the Balearic Islands. The deluge submerged roads, fields, low buildings, and vehicles, leaving debris scattered under overcast skies.
Aerial footage shows police boats and vehicles navigating chest-deep brown floodwaters, while officers in high-visibility gear guide inflatable craft past hedgerows and guardrails. Ground-level dashcam views capture police SUVs moving slowly along flooded streets in pouring rain, with officers on foot and motorcycles wading through knee-deep water to direct traffic and assist stranded residents near urban edges.
National Police and Civil Guard carried out more than 150 rescues, including evacuations from vehicles and a hotel affected by rockfall. Despite the severity of the flooding, no fatalities were reported.
Authorities continue to monitor water levels and coordinate emergency response to ensure public safety as storm conditions persist.
