Hanoi, Vietnam – A breathtaking wide-angle video captured from a high-rise overlooking the city showed Hanoi bursting into light at midnight on the night of February 16–17, 2026, as residents celebrated Tet Nguyen Dan and welcomed the Year of the Fire Horse.
The footage opens on a glowing nighttime skyline, with tall buildings shining in warm reds and pinks while streets below shimmer like streams of light. Faint vertical streaks on the window created a soft, dreamlike layer over the scene.
As the clock struck midnight, synchronized fireworks erupted across the horizon. Red and gold bursts bloomed first, followed by waves of green and white shooting upward from several locations at once, transforming the sky into a living canvas of color.
The display intensified with purple, blue, and silver explosions rolling in rhythmic patterns from rooftops and parks. Sparks rained down as smoke drifted through the air, casting a glowing haze over the city while reflections danced across glass buildings.
The show surged toward a powerful finale before fading into a smoky glow, leaving Hanoi shimmering as the new year began.
Fireworks were launched from 33 locations across the capital, using 34 launch sites with 11 high-altitude displays combined with low-level effects and 23 low-altitude shows. The celebration lasted 15 minutes from midnight on February 17 and was funded by nearly VND 40 billion.
Large crowds gathered at Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden for countdowns, performances, and the illuminated spectacle, which quickly spread widely across social media
