Vandenberg Space Force Base, California – October 22, 2025 – SpaceX achieved a new milestone yesterday as a Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 10:16 a.m. EDT carrying 28 Starlink internet satellites. This marked the 133rd Falcon 9 flight of 2025, breaking the company’s own record set last year.
The satellites will join SpaceX’s growing megaconstellation in low Earth orbit (LEO), providing wireless internet services to Starlink customers around the world. Yesterday’s launch also represents the company’s 138th overall mission of the year, tying its 2024 record.
Falcon 9’s first stage returned to Earth approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff, landing safely on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean. This booster, designated B1075, completed its 21st launch and landing. The rocket’s upper stage continued carrying the Starlink satellites to LEO, deploying them about an hour after launch.
SpaceX’s 2025 launch record highlights a year of unprecedented activity. Earlier in the week, the company launched two Falcon 9 missions on October 19, including the deployment of the 10,000th Starlink satellite and the record-breaking 31st flight for a single Falcon 9 booster.
