Northern Mississippi, USA – All westbound lanes of I-22/U.S. 78 from Red Banks (Exit 21) to the Tennessee state line reopened Thursday evening after crews cleared snow and ice from the roadway, restoring safe travel conditions.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation confirmed the lanes were fully accessible by 7:30 p.m., allowing motorists to resume normal travel.
The previously blocked section of I-55 north of Como (Exit 257) was also cleared and reopened, easing delays for commuters and long-distance drivers.
MDOT credited snow removal and road maintenance teams for their swift response in making the highways safe during winter conditions, emphasizing the importance of monitoring travel updates in icy areas.
