Palawan, Philippines – On August 5th, the sky above eastern Palawan was marked by dramatic trails following a rocket launch explosion. The Philippine Coast Guard confirmed that a series of five loud explosions were heard from the east, matching a scheduled launch from China’s Hainan International Commercial Launch Center.
Between 6:14 PM and 6:42 PM, China’s Long March 12 rocket was launched, and observers spotted a visible condensation trail consistent with rocket exhaust. The explosions created striking marks in the sky, captured clearly in video footage of the aftermath.
The Coast Guard identified multiple drop zones for rocket debris within Philippine waters, including coordinates near 09°22’N 119°19’E and others around the area. Authorities have urged mariners and the public to stay alert and report any debris sightings to local stations.
Despite the impressive display and booming sounds, no immediate threats to safety or navigation have been reported. The Philippine Coast Guard continues to monitor the situation, prioritizing maritime safety and environmental protection.
