Castilla y León, Spain – A red kite, known as “Cometa Roja,” has finally taken flight after eight months of rehabilitation.
The bird arrived last winter from Germany and was admitted in March with severe wing injuries and missing many feathers.
Today, the red kite was released in front of an excited group of schoolchildren, marking a joyful milestone in its recovery.
Equipped with a GPS device, the bird is now ready to navigate the skies once again.
