Raging Waters From Storm Claudia Swallow Streets In Leon

La Vecilla de Curueno, Leon, Spain – Video filmed by X user Lucha por la Montaña shows the river Curueno overflowing in La Vecilla de Curueno after heavy rainfall on November 13 and early November 14, 2025.

The footage shows water covering roads and surrounding areas, with a yellow building partially submerged and trees standing in the flooded landscape.

This flooding is part of the wider impact of Storm Claudia, which caused major disruptions across Spain, including evacuations and power outages affecting more than 32,000 people.

The storm also forced 140 schools in Catalonia to cancel classes and left nearly 60,000 homes without electricity, underscoring the severity of the weather conditions.

The overflow of the river Curueno is a rare event, with local resident Carlos Fernandez describing it as the fastest rise he has seen in a single day, emphasizing the unusual nature of the situation.
