Jordan – RAF F-35B and Typhoon jets soared into the skies over the Middle East, launching missions to protect UK personnel and allied nations while engaging hostile drones.
F-35B Lightnings operating over Jordanian airspace destroyed uncrewed aerial systems in defence of Jordan, marking the first time a British F-35 has destroyed a target during active operations. The jets were supported by RAF Typhoons and a Voyager air-to-air refuelling aircraft, ensuring sustained operational reach.
In Iraqi airspace, a British counter-drone team intercepted UAVs heading toward Coalition forces, protecting UK personnel in the area.
Separately, an RAF Typhoon shot down an Iranian one-way attack drone targeting Qatar while operating with 12 Squadron, the joint UK-Qatar squadron.
These missions highlight the UK’s active commitment to regional security and the strategic capabilities of its aircraft in safeguarding personnel and allies.
