Thurston County, WA – Dash cam footage shows the dramatic end to a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle, where police deployed a Batman-like grappler device to bring the fleeing suspect to a halt.

The driver, who had multiple warrants out for his arrest, was taken into custody. He was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and attempting to elude law enforcement.

There were no injuries or damage reported to any vehicles involved in the incident.

In the video, at the very start of the pursuit, the deputy can be heard reminding themselves to take deep breaths. This technique is part of a pursuit decision-making course designed to reduce tunnel vision and improve driving performance during high-stakes chases.
