Police Rescue Woman Lost In Dangerous YouTube Survival Challenge

Pigeon River State Forest, Michigan – On September 6, troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post joined the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office to locate a 36-year-old woman from California who became lost while taking part in a YouTube survival challenge.

The woman went missing the previous evening, but authorities were not notified until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

A search was immediately launched, with MSP canine units navigating the dense forest, still damaged from a recent ice storm.

The MSP Aviation Unit was activated, and Trooper 6 arrived on scene. At approximately 10:40 a.m., Trooper 6 located the woman and guided the canine units to her position.

Law enforcement officers and firefighters then safely escorted her out of the woods, ending a tense and high-stakes search.

The Michigan State Police praised all first responders for their swift and coordinated efforts during the rescue.
