Ruskin, Florida – On the night of January 27, 2026, Hillsborough County deputies were called to an unusual scene: a miniature horse roaming near a busy road.

At 11:30 p.m., the 911 Dispatch Center received a report of the horse, later identified as Oreo, loose in Ruskin. Officers quickly arrived on the scene to ensure the animal’s safety and prevent any accidents.

Deputies found Oreo standing near the road, calmly observing the situation. The team safely guided the horse back to its owner, preventing potential traffic hazards or injuries.

Oreo’s brief adventure gave deputies a memorable “mane” moment, showcasing the lighter side of law enforcement duties alongside their usual responsibilities.
