Police Capture Wallaby Near Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport

Cudahy, United States – A wallaby on the loose was captured by police and returned to its owner on the morning of July 3 in Cudahy, Wisconsin.

The animal was spotted near Pennsylvania Avenue and International Drive, not far from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.

Bodycam footage from the Cudahy Police Department shows an officer finding the wallaby, which was wearing a harness, close to a fence by a FedEx facility.

“We got a call about this, like, I don’t know, 30 minutes ago. And they’re like, ‘yeah, we got kangaroo.’ I was like, no way. I was like, there’s no shot,” the officer says in the video.

Wallabies are small marsupials native to Australia and closely resemble kangaroos, according to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute.
