North Yorkshire, England – Three criminals who targeted high-value Audi and Volkswagen vehicles across North Yorkshire were arrested after two were found hiding in a hot tub and a third was discovered in a nearby trailer.
The group – Ryan Wilkinson, 25, of St Edwins Drive, Dunscroft, Cyle Jenkins, 23, of Princess Avenue, Stainforth, and Adrian Askin, 28, of Poplar Road, Skellow – began their crime spree on 21 October 2024 in Camblesforth.
Three masked men forced their way into a home after shouting “It’s the Police,” assaulting the victim in front of her elderly mother while demanding the key to her Audi RS3. Despite being punched in the face, the victim refused to provide her immobiliser code and the criminals fled empty-handed.
The following night, the group struck again in Gilberdyke and Carlton, stealing Volkswagen Golf R vehicles and threatening a victim with a crowbar and firearm. The firearm was later identified as the victim’s own air rifle recovered inside a stolen vehicle.
Stolen cars travelling in convoy on false number plates were tracked towards Austerfield, Doncaster. Officers from North Yorkshire Police, Humberside Police and South Yorkshire Police deployed a stinger device to puncture tyres before searches led to a garden in Lindholme, where two criminals were found soaking wet under a hot-tub lid and the third inside a trailer.
All three pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated burglary, one burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. On 21 November 2025 at Sheffield Crown Court, Wilkinson and Jenkins each received nine years and four months, and Askin was sentenced to ten years.
