Pickett Fire Rages Through Napa County Prompting Evacuations

Napa County, California – Firefighting crews are battling the Pickett Fire in Napa County, with machinery creating firebreaks as heavy smoke fills the air.

As of August 24, 2025, the fire has consumed 5,862 acres and is 11% contained. Evacuation orders have been issued for 190 people, while 360 others are under evacuation warnings.

The fire’s eastern edge poses a threat to Aetna Springs Road. Night-flying helicopters and ground crews are actively working to control the blaze.

Smoke from the fire has led to unhealthy air quality, prompting an advisory that will remain in effect through August 27, 2025.

CAL FIRE LNU confirmed the fire’s progress, stating, “The Pickett Fire burning in Napa County is now 5,862 acres and 11% contained. New evacuation orders and warnings have been issued.”
