Sri Lanka – A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter from No. 7 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda carried out three rescue missions, airlifting 13 people who had become stranded on the roof of a flooded house.
According to the Sri Lanka Air Force, the operation involved the Bell 212 flying into severe flood conditions to extract those trapped by rising waters. The individuals had climbed onto the rooftop in an effort to escape the rapidly encroaching floodwaters.
The crew successfully hoisted all 13 people to safety across the three missions, operating above dangerous currents and overwhelmed surroundings as flood levels continued to rise.
