Oklahoma City, USA – Exceptional bravery was displayed by Lt. Ben Smith, Trooper Dakota Castle, and Trooper Chandler Lipe on August 21, 2025, during a life-threatening incident at a gas station on 29th Street and Portland.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m., the officers noticed a man slumped on the curb with his head on the concrete, barely showing any vital signs and with uncertain breathing. Recognizing the urgency, the troopers immediately administered two separate doses of Narcan.
They carefully moved the man into a safer position to aid his breathing and continued life-saving measures until emergency medical services arrived.
An EMT confirmed that the quick and decisive actions of the troopers were likely the key reason the man survived the drug overdose. During transport, EMS contacted dispatch to report that the male was expected to survive, emphasizing the critical impact of the troopers’ intervention.
This incident highlights the life-saving capabilities and dedication of Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers in moments of extreme danger.
