Officers Find Missing 4 Year Old Hiding In Stroller In 15 Degree Cold

Sturgeon – The Columbia Police Department has praised the dedication and swift actions of its officers who helped locate a missing 4-year-old boy early in the morning of Dec. 5.

The child was found more than half a mile from a home in Sturgeon, without shoes or adequate clothing in 15-degree temperatures. He had been missing for nearly five hours.

Body-worn camera footage captures the moment officers discovered the boy taking shelter in the bottom of a stroller.

Officers immediately provided emergency care at the scene until paramedics arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

The department said the incident highlights outstanding teamwork among the many public safety agencies in Boone County and expressed gratitude to everyone involved in finding the missing child.
