Officers Brave Blazing Flames To Rescue Trapped Man In Tampa Home

Tampa, Florida – Body camera footage released by the Tampa Police Department shows officers responding to a house fire on N. Highlands Avenue on August 9, 2025, rescuing a man trapped inside.

The video captures officers moving through intense smoke and heat, coordinating their efforts while ensuring safety. All involved were treated for smoke inhalation but are now reported to be okay.

The fire, determined to be accidental, was extinguished by Tampa Fire Rescue. The quick action of the officers is credited with saving the man’s life.

Tampa Police Department stated: “On Aug 9, officers entered a burning home on N. Highlands Ave & rescued a trapped man. Thanks to their quick action, his life was saved. Everyone was treated for smoke inhalation & is now okay. Tampa Fire Rescue extinguished the accidental fire. We salute all our first responders!”
