Officer Narrowly Escapes As Car Is Forced Under Tractor Trailer

Gwinnett County, GA – On November 4, 2025, officers with the West Precinct Community Response Team were conducting a traffic stop on I-85 when a violent collision erupted only seconds after an officer had stepped away from the impact zone.

As traffic slowed to merge around the police activity, a vehicle driven by Domarius Williams failed to slow down and slammed into the rear of another car.

The force of the collision pushed the struck vehicle underneath a tractor trailer.

The impact caused the tractor trailer to swerve directly into the area where the officer had been standing moments earlier, narrowly avoiding a potentially catastrophic outcome.

Despite the severity of the crash, no officers were injured, and the occupants of the involved vehicles suffered only minor injuries.

Williams was cited for following too closely, driving with a suspended license, and having an improper license plate cover.

Authorities say the incident highlights the dangers officers face during roadside encounters and the need for drivers to slow down and use caution when approaching emergency lights.
