Fresno County, USA – Multiple vegetation fires broke out along northbound Highway 41 between American Avenue and North Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m. today.

CAL FIRE and Fresno County Fire reported that the combination of strong winds, dry grass, and high temperatures caused the flames to spread eastward.

The fire threatened several structures, vehicles, and pieces of equipment in the area.

Fire crews responded swiftly and were able to contain the threats.

The blaze was held to 17 acres.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
