León, Spain – A massive wildfire continues to rage in León, sending towering smoke plumes into the sky and forcing evacuations.

The fire, which started on August 8, 2025, escalated sharply on August 20, prompting authorities to issue a level 2 alert. Aerial footage captures the intensity of the blaze and the challenges faced by firefighters.

Authorities suspect intentional ignition, complicating efforts to control the fire and drawing calls for legal action. Fire crews remain stretched as they battle flames in difficult conditions, reflecting Spain’s severe 2025 fire season.

On August 26, BRIF Tabuyo reported that the on-site brigade had to be withdrawn between 19:15 and 20:25, highlighting the ongoing danger of the wildfire.
