Massive Landslide Blocks SS 51 Road In Belluno Firefighters Work Through The Night

San Vito di Cadore, Italy – On July 1st, heavy rain caused a massive landslide on the SS 51 Alemagna road in Belluno province.

The landslide front measured 100 meters long and 4 meters high. It covered the road with mud and debris, blocking traffic.

Firefighters have been working since midnight to clear the area. Teams with loaders and excavators arrived from Verona and Belluno to restore the road.

Drones from the remote piloted aircraft unit are flying overhead to monitor the clearing efforts.
