Cáceres, Spain – A large wildfire continued to burn across the forested slopes near Losar de la Vera on the evening of April 1, 2026, as firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames.

Footage filmed by the BRIF Workers Association shows the BRIF Iglesuela team in full protective gear preparing equipment while thick smoke rises from the burning hillsides. A white “BOMBEROS” helicopter hovered nearby, providing aerial support as firefighters monitored the blaze.

Aerial clips from the helicopter reveal flames sweeping through steep terrain, with plumes of white and gray smoke billowing into the sky. The fire burned along the ridgeline and through dense vegetation, creating challenging conditions for the teams on the ground.

The firefighters concluded their shift around 18:40 local time, standing down after a long day of battling the blaze and returning to base.

The official BRIF association described the footage, noting the scale of the fire as the team ended their operations.
