Key Largo, Florida – On March 21, X user Jim Robinson posted a video showing a huge fire along US-1 near the Florida Keys. The blaze was dangerously close to the highway, alarming drivers in the area.

He described the scene: Very scary driving through US-1 on the 18-Mile Stretch to Florida Keys. Fire coming right up to Northbound side! Don’t recommend trying to cross. Robinson warned others to avoid the route.

The video, filmed at 8:15 pm, was taken about 7 miles south of Florida City. Robinson also noted that Card Sound Road, an alternative route, was closed and likely unsafe.

The fire’s proximity to the northbound side of US-1 raised concerns for travelers heading toward the Florida Keys. No further details on the fire’s cause or containment were provided in his post.
