Man Fakes Seizure After Fleeing Traffic Stop Before Arrest In University Place

University Place, Washington – On June 26, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Bridgeport Way W and Custer Road W due to an expired temporary tag and missing front plate.

The 58-year-old driver admitted to not having a valid license and later, deputies found he had a domestic violence warrant. When asked to step out, he fled to a nearby house — his own, despite previously claiming to be homeless.

Lakewood Police officers caught and arrested him, but during the arrest, the man faked a seizure to avoid jail.

Firefighters were called to assess him and confirmed he was not experiencing a real seizure.

He was booked on his warrant as well as new charges of eluding and obstruction.

The quick actions of University Place deputies and Lakewood officers ensured the suspect was taken into custody.
