OSPEDALETTO D’ALPINOLO (AV) – On Wednesday 26.11.2025, the work of the fire brigade continued after a landslide in the Avellino area, in via Montevergine in the municipality of Ospedaletto d’Alpinolo.
Four hairpin bends were affected by the slope failure, and teams were deployed for safety measures and constant monitoring of the area. An aerial survey was carried out with a helicopter from the Salerno flight unit.
By 15:30, firefighters were still responding to the bad weather that had been hitting Campania since yesterday morning, particularly in the provinces of Naples, Avellino and Salerno.
More than 200 interventions had been carried out for structural instability of building elements, dangerous trees and general water damage. In addition, teams remained engaged for around one hundred further requests for intervention still in the queue.
The most serious issues were in the province of Salerno, in the Agro nocerino-sarnese area between the municipalities of San Marzano, Pagani, Scafati, Nocera and Angri.
In this area, firefighters carried out rescues for the overflowing of some watercourses. Specialist water rescue crews brought to safety drivers blocked in their vehicles and people in difficulty on the lower floors of flooded homes.
The landslide in the Avellino area along via Montevergine in Ospedaletto d’Alpinolo remained under control with teams continuing safety operations.
The rescue response was reinforced at the fire brigade commands in Naples, Salerno and Avellino.
