Indiana Air Guard Jets Tested In Major Combat Readiness Drill

Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida – U.S. Airmen with the Indiana Air National Guard, assigned to the 122nd Fighter Wing, validated unit readiness during Checkered Flag 26-1 at Tyndall Air Force Base from October 27 to 30, 2025.

The exercise was part of a major effort to confirm that the wing’s jets are fully combat coded and ready for operational missions.

Checkered Flag 26-1 ran alongside the Weapons System Evaluation Program, two large-scale exercises held from October 21 to November 6, 2025. Together, they authenticated the 122nd Fighter Wing aircraft conversion by demonstrating full mission readiness.

Aircrews also proved their ability to employ live munitions in joint combat training, reinforcing the wing’s capacity to operate effectively in a modern combat environment.
