Highway Troopers Risk Safety To Rescue Stranded Puppy On I‑80

Cuyahoga County, Ohio – Troopers from the Milan Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a call about a dog stranded along the median of I‑80.

Upon arrival, officers carefully secured the frightened pup with a leash and gently persuaded her to enter the back seat of their cruiser. The dog, now named Freckles, was unharmed.

“This situation called for both toughness and compassion,” the Highway Patrol noted, emphasizing the troopers’ training to handle emergencies with care and professionalism.

The rescue highlights the balance law enforcement maintains between public safety and protecting vulnerable animals.
