High Winds Blow Semi Over, Close Highway 93 In Colorado

Eastern Colorado, United States – Officials closed Highway 93 from Highway 72 to Highway 128 after dangerously strong winds struck the region, authorities reported.

A semi‑truck that was pulled over at the roadside was blown onto its side by the gusts, prompting the closure of the stretch of highway.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office shared a notice stating that “Highway 93 is closed from Highway 72 to Highway 128 due to high winds. A semi on the side of the road has been blown over.”

The shutdown came amid a powerful wind event across northern Colorado that brought gusts strong enough to tip vehicles and disrupt travel.

Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area until conditions improve and the roadway is cleared.
