Stockbridge Township, Michigan – A 42-year-old Lansing man survived a fiery crash on Friday evening thanks to the swift actions of law enforcement officers.
At approximately 8:23 p.m., Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on M52 near Topping Road. The vehicle had left the road and struck a tree before catching fire, trapping the driver inside.
A Stockbridge Police Officer and an Ingham County Deputy, who were in the area, arrived within one minute. The driver was pulled to safety through the passenger side window. Three minutes later, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No other occupants were in the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Stockbridge Police Department. Video footage from the Ingham County Deputy highlights the quick response that likely saved the man’s life.
