Harrier Jets Conduct Live Bombing Exercise From USS Iwo Jima In Caribbean Sea

Caribbean Sea – U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II aircraft with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), carried out a live-fire bombing exercise on Oct. 2, 2025.

The BOMBEX took place while the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) was underway in the Caribbean Sea, with Harrier jets launching and releasing live ordnance as part of the training.

U.S. military forces are deployed to the Caribbean in support of the U.S. Southern Command mission, Department of War-directed operations, and the president’s priorities.
