Iznalloz, Granada, Spain – Three men aged 24 to 39 have been arrested by the Guardia Civil for shooting at two people from a car and running over one of them in Iznalloz, Granada, in July 2024. A 48-year-old woman is also under investigation in connection with the attack.
The suspects used a stolen vehicle with fake license plates and hid their faces with hoods and masks. They opened fire on a man and a woman walking in the town, then struck the woman with the car, causing injuries that were not life-threatening. After the attack, they fled and burned the vehicle several kilometers away.
Investigators found that the victims and suspects belong to two families involved in a violent feud for the past four years, which has included threats and attempted killings. The July 2024 attack was reportedly intended to avenge an earlier homicide committed at the start of 2024 by a member of the victims’ family.
In August, the Guardia Civil conducted searches at residences in Granada and Cordoba. Officers seized two handguns, one long firearm, mobile phones, and 292 marijuana plants in an indoor cultivation. During one search, a suspect briefly confronted officers with a firearm before surrendering.
The three men have been brought before the courts for attempted homicide, illegal possession of weapons, vehicle theft, vehicle damage, and falsifying license plates. One suspect is also under investigation for drug trafficking.
The investigation was led by the Judicial Police Unit of the Guardia Civil in Granada.
