Cádiz, Spain – The Guardia Civil intercepted a narco boat carrying 1.7 tons of hashish in the waters off Cádiz, capturing dramatic footage of a high-speed pursuit that ended with four arrests.
The 14-meter boat, powered by four 350-horsepower engines, was detected by SIVE’s surveillance system. Helicopters and patrol vessels quickly moved in, leading to a pursuit that ended with the vessel stopped and the drugs seized.
During the operation, officers also encountered two empty boats intended to distract and protect the main shipment. They failed to succeed.
Hours later, SIVE alerted authorities to suspicious activity on Aguadulce Beach in Rota. Several individuals were found handling fuel containers, presumably for future narco boats. The Guardia Civil intervened, confiscating 114 containers and discovering 10 more already loaded on an abandoned inflatable boat.
The operation involved officers from the Provincial Maritime Service of Cádiz, SIVE, and the Air Unit based in Rota. Their coordinated efforts not only halted the shipment but sent a clear message: the Guardia Civil remains relentless in its fight against drug trafficking.
