Giant Dinosaur Fossils Airlifted From Ribadesella Cliffs With Army Support

Ribadesella, Spain – A high-risk extraction unfolded on the steep coastal cliffs, where specialists, assisted by Army personnel, carried out an aerial operation to remove giant dinosaur fossils embedded in the rock face.

The team secured the exposed remains on a rugged section overlooking the shoreline before a military helicopter hoisted them from the site. Ground crews guided the lift to prevent any damage to the fragile material.

Officials said the cliff’s extreme terrain made conventional recovery impossible, leaving aerial extraction as the only viable option to preserve the fossils.

After the airlift, the remains were transported to a secure facility for detailed study.
