Summit County – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it called a heated territorial dispute between a fox and a skunk at the Law Enforcement Range.

In an update labeled “BREAKING:”, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies briefly considered stepping in to mediate the conflict.

However, after assessing the skunk’s “weapons system,” deputies chose to let nature handle the situation.

In the end, the fox backed off and disengaged.

The skunk strutted away as the clear victor, leaving the range to “recover eventually.”

The message closed with the familiar reassurance: The Summit County Sheriff’s Office – Always Here for You.
