Huetor Tajar, Spain – The Guardia Civil rescued four people whose vehicle became stranded in the Genil River during intense rainfall linked to Storm Leonardo.
Officers, assisted by local citizens, used an excavator to reach the occupants, who had taken refuge on the roof of their car.
All four victims were safely evacuated to a secure area.
Authorities reminded the public to exercise caution during heavy rain and never attempt to cross flooded sections of road. They also advised checking weather forecasts and road conditions before traveling.
