Firehawk Helicopter Airlifts Injured Rider From Newport Coast Trail

Newport Coast Unincorporated Area – Firefighters responded shortly before 10:00 a.m. to a 911 call reporting that a woman had been injured after her horse fell and then injured her.

Ground units and a Firehawk helicopter from the Orange County Fire Authority were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighter paramedics began treating the woman and then transported her by helicopter to a hospital in stable condition for further evaluation.

The horse was not hurt and was able to walk off the trail on its own.

Laguna Beach Fire and Orange County Parks assisted with the response.
