Smolensk, Russia – A cat trapped in a burning apartment on Popova Street was rescued by firefighters from Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS). The blaze had taken over the multi-story building when help arrived.
The cat was in critical condition, overcome by smoke and flames. Rescuers used an oxygen mask and massaged the animal to revive it. Their efforts paid off as the scorched feline opened its eyes and began breathing again.
Fifteen specialists and four MChS vehicles were at the scene. The cat’s rescue has captured attention, with video evidence showing the firefighters’ life-saving work.
