Firefighters Rescue Eagle Trapped 70 Feet Up In British Columbia Tree

Brackendale, British Columbia – Firefighters in British Columbia rescued an eagle that had become stuck in a tree about 70 feet above the ground.

Squamish Fire Rescue said on social media that crews were called after reports that an eagle appeared to be impaled on a branch high in a tree in Brackendale.

Video from the scene shows responders using a ladder truck to reach the spot where the bird was hanging by its wing roughly 70 feet up. Firefighters freed the eagle from the branch and lowered it to the ground in a net.

The bald eagle was then transported to the OWL Rehab Facility so it could be assessed and treated.
