Ávila, Spain – Firefighters from Ávila’s emergency services have been working to protect homes in the urban-forest interface zone of El Arenal during a spreading fire.

The team successfully rescued a family from one of the threatened properties, safely relocating them to the nearby village.

Two firefighter crews remained on duty overnight in the nearby area of Cuevas del Valle, continuing efforts to control the blaze and safeguard the community.
