Como, Italy – A dramatic video shows firefighters rescuing families from a flooded car during severe storms in northern Lombardy on September 22, 2025.
The footage captures the vehicle stuck in rising water while firefighters push it to safety, ensuring the passengers escape unharmed.
In the wider region, rescue operations have been intense. In 48 hours, over 750 interventions were carried out, assisting motorists, helping residents, draining floodwaters, and repairing water damage.
A total of 390 firefighters took part, using specialized water pumping units, earth-moving equipment, river rescue teams, drones, and a helicopter from the Varese flight unit.
Other areas in the province of Como faced heavy impacts. In Laglio, families trapped by water in their homes were rescued, and landslides affected vehicles and roads in Brienno, Argegno, Colonno, Blevio, and Nesso, prompting evacuations of ten residents.
The video highlights the bravery and quick response of the firefighters amid the chaotic flooding.
