Batangas, Philippines – Time-lapse footage recorded a phreatomagmatic eruption at the Taal Main Crater at 04:36 PM this afternoon, 26 December 2025.
The activity occurred in four pulses and lasted two minutes, based on seismic records and camera observations.
During the event, short and dark ash jets were produced and collapsed back onto the Main Crater Lake.
Light gray to whitish plumes rose up to 600 meters above the crater before drifting toward the southwest.
Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano.
