Cuellar, Spain – A fire broke out in a low-density pine forest near Cuellar on July 13, threatening to spread quickly due to the presence of dry grass on the ground.
Although the fire is affecting a flat area with sparse tree coverage, the dry underbrush is helping the flames advance rapidly. The fire is not expected to reach the treetops easily, but its speed across the forest floor remains a serious concern.
Firefighting units from INFOCAL and MITECO responded to the scene. The ELIF V1 team arrived at 16:55 to assist in efforts to contain the blaze.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as suppression efforts continue.
