Nahma, United States – A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew carried out a dramatic rescue over Lake Michigan on July 13, 2025.
An MH-60 Jayhawk from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City responded to a medical emergency involving a vessel operator near Nahma, Michigan.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Watkins, an aviation survival technician, was deployed to the scene.
The survivor was safely hoisted from the vessel and transported by helicopter to a nearby airport, where emergency medical services were standing by.
