Dozens Rescued From Scorching Wilderness Park As Temperatures Soar

Aliso Viejo, California – OCFA teams, alongside partner agencies, responded to multiple rescue calls on a scorching day in the Aliso & Woods Canyons Wilderness Park.

Over a dozen people were rescued across various incidents. The rescues came as extreme heat pushed temperatures to 96° F, according to the National Weather Service.

Emergency crews warned the public about the risks of hiking or riding in the area under such conditions.

They advised only experienced hikers and riders to enter the terrain while the heat persists.

Authorities also reminded anyone venturing out to bring plenty of water and stay hydrated.
