Dog Rescued From Raging Chattahoochee River In Georgia

White County, Georgia – A dog was rescued from the Chattahoochee River after falling down an embankment and becoming stranded in the rushing waters near Goat Neck Road on Friday.

The White County Office of Public Safety reported that White County Fire Services and Habersham Emergency Services responded to the emergency call. Assistant Chief Josh Taylor and EMS Lieutenant Shad Sosebee entered the river to perform a swift water rescue.

A video of the rescue shows the responders placing the dog on a floating stretcher and keeping it calm while carefully returning it to shore.
