Deputy Saves Woman From Edge Of Katy Overpass

Katy, Texas, USA – Body camera footage captured a dramatic rescue when a Fort Bend County Constable helped a woman in crisis after calls reported her hanging over a Katy overpass.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, locals called 911 to report a woman hanging over the overpass at SH 99 and FM 1093.

When Deputy Terrance Greene arrived, the woman had her legs over the edge. Body camera footage shows Greene calmly approaching her as she appeared clearly in crisis.

“True heroism isn’t loud,” says Fort Bend County Constable Chad Norvell. “It’s the calm voice, the steady hand, and compassion that pulls someone back from the edge.”

Authorities say suicide attempts happen daily in all sectors of the community. They add that such incidents increase during the holidays as people feel pressure over spending money.

The Katy community has resources available to help families or individuals in need. “We’re proud of Greene’s actions,” says Constable Norvell.

Officials urge anyone needing help to reach out to a professional. They stress that Katy area law enforcement are more than officers who enforce traffic violations and that they also connect with people in crisis.
